Chocolate Pie - Vegan

About the Recipe

Ingredients

FILLING

1 package semisweet or dark chocolate chips

2 Tbsp almond milk, soy or rice.

1 tsp salt

2 packages silken tofu boxes (20 oz together)

2 Tbsp Almond Extract (Optional, and recommended)


CRUST

1 and 1/2 cups macadamia nuts or any nuts you like

1 cup medjool dates

1 tsp salt





Preparation

Place macadamia nuts salt and dates into food processor until fine and can be pressed into the pan. If it doesn't press together add a few more dates until it does.

Press into 9 or 10" pie plate

Use 1 quart saucepan on low heat to melt the chocolate chips. Add almond milk and stir.

(with saladmaster you don't need a double boiler if it is on the lowest heat)

In a blender or mixer blend tofu until smooth

Add melted chocolate, blend until a uniform milk chocolate brown color.

Pour in to pie crust and cill for about 1 hour until it sets.
